IntraCor Content Added to Refractive Surgery News

Refractive Surgery News recently added content about IntraCor, a laser procedure used to correct presbyopia. The IntraCor procedure uses a femtosecond laser to change the curvature of the inner layers of the cornea. The procedure is not yet approved in the US and initial tests in South America have shown promising results. The Patient Stories section of the website has also been recently updated with information about Merlin Olsen, a hall of fame football player. He was diagnosed with mesothelioma and has retained a lawyer to help determine who was responsible for his exposure to asbestos. Consumer Guide to Dentistry Forms Advisory Board

Consumer Guide to Dentistry has formed an Advisory Board to provide input on content development and strategic planning. The 12-member board, comprised of internationally recognized cosmetic dentists and key opinion leaders in the dental community, will work closely with the editorial team to develop editorial ideas, review article content and provide input regarding site direction. Board members have already reviewed articles on topics including TMJ, gum disease and tooth pain. Plans for 2010 include expanding on more than 100 pages of content covering bad breath, toothache, orthodontics (and orthodontists), implants, hygiene and more.

The surge in visitors is attributed to the general movement of consumers in the United States and around the globe to use the Internet, as opposed to Yellow Pages or printed advertisement, to learn about oral health and to find a dentist. Consumers often need information quickly, such as when there may be a need for a wisdom tooth extraction, or when considering cosmetic smile enhancements, such as dentures, Lumineers or braces.  This comprehensive site covers all of these topics, as well as information about dental insurance.

During 2009, more than 2.2 million unique visitors came to the Consumer Guide to Plastic Surgery. This website, now among the most widely visited online sources of information about cosmetic plastic surgery, has detailed sections about breast surgery, body contouring, hair loss, facial surgery and injectables. The most visited articles relate to breast augmentation,  liposuction, breast lift and Botox injections.  Ceatus Media Group, who owns and operates the web portal, projects the traffic growth in 2010 to exceed 30%, just as in 2009.

Ceatus Acquires My Choice Medical Holdings Plastic Surgery Sites

Ceatus Media Group recently completed the acquisition of 23 websites, formerly owned by My Choice Medical Holdings, with information related to cosmetic and plastic surgery. These websites provide comprehensive articles about a wide range of aesthetic enhancement procedures, including facelift, rhinoplasty and eyelid surgery, as well as details about procedure cost, such as about the cost of breast implants. Ceatus plans to expand the content in these sites and offer directories for cosmetic and plastic surgeons who would like to connect with consumers who have an interest in these procedures.
